About

Kron Lume began as Snickare Carlson in Vinslov, Sweden in the 1940s — manufacturing wooden window lights designed to welcome visitors on a cold winter night. The founder crafted each pattern by hand, then developed a manufacturing process that honored the natural beauty and luminosity of wood. Every light made today is crafted from those original blueprints.Kron Lume was the original American importer of these wooden components. In 2009, our parents brought Kron Lume and Snickare Carlson together under one roof and relocated them to Minnesota. In 2026, we took the reins and relaunched Kron Lume, using the original blueprints and tools to create a new chapter for these heritage designs. We’re proud to call these lights a part of our third-generation American family tradition. We hope they'll become part of yours. We are currently replenishing our stock after a production hiatus and anticipate having our full assortment available for purchase in June 2026. Quantities will be limited in order to prioritize stock for in-person sales events this fall and winter.Sign up for our email list below to get first access to our inventory when it is available.

OUR DESIGNS

Our heritage-quality lights are made by hand in our solar-powered Minnesota workshop, using sustainably-harvested American softwoods alongside tools and plans imported from Sweden two decades ago. Each star is made from dozens of individually-shaped pieces of wood which are then arranged and fixed together to make each light, the way they have been since the 1940s. No laser cutting, no automated tools -- from individual board selection to final assembly, we do it all by hand.We are currently replenishing our stock after a production hiatus and anticipate having our full assortment available for purchase in June 2026.
